Preview Roundups
January 13, 2019
Philadelphia at New York 1:00 PM ET
The Philadelphia 76ers have dropped consecutive games against teams in the bottom portion of the Eastern Conference standings. They'll try to avoid a third consecutive such setback when they visit the New York Knicks on Saturday for a Madison Square Garden matinee.
Toronto at Washington 1:00 PM ET
Kawhi Leonard is undoubtedly the headliner, but the Toronto Raptors are far from a one-man show. The Raptors will try to ride their depth to a fifth consecutive victory when they host the Washington Wizards on Sunday.
Milwaukee at Atlanta 3:30 PM ET
The Milwaukee Bucks are not the same team without superstar forward Giannis Antetokounmpo, who watched from the bench as his team fell to the Washington Wizards on Friday. The Bucks are hoping Antetokounmpo is recovered enough from quadriceps soreness to take the floor when they visit the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday.
Houston at Orlando 6:00 PM ET
James Harden will take his phenomenal run back out onto the road when he leads the Houston Rockets into Orlando on Sunday for a matchup with the Magic. Harden had 43 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds in Friday's 141-113 rout of Cleveland at home, becoming the first player in NBA history to record a 40-point triple-double while playing less than 30 minutes.
Golden State at Dallas 7:00 PM ET
The Golden State Warriors boast a quartet of dynamic playmakers and have another on the way with injured center DeMarcus Cousins drawing closer to making his season debut. The Dallas Mavericks, who host the Warriors on Sunday, are developing their own dynamic playmaker in rookie forward Luka Doncic, who is already drawing comparisons to some of the game's greats.
Portland at Denver 8:00 PM ET
The Portland Trail Blazers will try to register their first five-game winning streak of the season and inch a bit closer to the top of the Western Conference when they begin a two-game road trip on Sunday against the West-leading Denver Nuggets. After dropping the opener of a five-game homestand, the Trail Blazers rolled to four consecutive victories - including a 127-96 triumph over Charlotte on Friday - to match their longest winning streak of 2018-19.
Cleveland at L.A. Lakers 9:30 PM ET
LeBron James will not be on the floor when his new team hosts his old team, and the Los Angeles Lakers can commiserate with the Cleveland Cavaliers when it comes to scratching together wins without the superstar. The Cavaliers own the worst record in the NBA and will be attempting to snap a 12-game losing streak when they visit the Lakers on Sunday.
