Keith Kinkaid made 38 saves as the visiting New Jersey Devils beat the Los Angeles Kings 3-0 Saturday afternoon at Staples Center.

Kinkaid improved to 9-2-0 in his last 11 starts and recorded his fourth career shutout. He stopped 19 shots in the first, eight in the second and 11 more in the third. He also helped kill off six Los Angeles power plays.

Michael Grabner scored a shorthanded goal and Nico Hischier tallied on even strength in the opening period as the Devils won their third straight game on a season-high six-game road trip.

Miles Wood added New Jersey's other goal in the third period.

The Kings fell to 6-3-1 in their last 10 games and were blanked for the fourth time this season.

Jonathan Quick made 25 saves for Los Angeles.

The Devils struck first 8:29 into the game by breaking up some passing on a Los Angeles power play.

Grabner intercepted defenseman Drew Doughty's centering pass from the right point to the high slot. He then sped up ice on a breakaway and lifted a wrist shot from the right circle over Quick's right shoulder.

It was his 26th goal of the season, second since joining the Devils in a trade with the New York Rangers, and 15th career shorthanded tally.

It also was New Jersey's 10th shorthanded goal of the season.

The Devils struck again about five minutes later, scoring shortly after a line chance. Hischier gained possession by taking a long pass from Damon Severson after coming onto the ice, eluded Doughty and snapped a shot over Quick's shoulder for his 16th goal.

Kinkaid preserved the two-goal lead by making three saves on a Los Angeles 5-on-3, which started one second after he made a leg save on a partial breakaway by Tyler Toffoli.

He also ended the second by making a stick save just before the end of the period on Tanner Pearson.

New Jersey added its third goal with 13:54 left by capitalizing on another misplay by Doughty.

Doughty's pass in the Kings' offensive zone was intercepted by Brian Boyle, who dished the puck to Wood, who raced out on a breakaway and lifted a wrist shot from the right circle over Quick's stick side.
