Connor Brown scored 2:33 into overtime to lift the visiting Edmonton Oilers past the St. Louis Blues 3-2 on Tuesday.
Connor McDavid had a goal and two assists and Leon Draisaitl had a goal and an assist for the Oilers, who are 4-1-1 in their last six games. Stuart Skinner made 20 saves to earn the victory.
Jordan Kyrou and Colton Parayko scored and Jordan Binnington made 35 saves for the Blues, who are 1-4-1 in their last six.
Brown won it for Edmonton when he powered home a nifty backhanded pass from McDavid, who had slithered right to the net before dishing the puck to his left.
That came after the Oilers pulled even at 2-2 late in the third period. With Skinner pulled for an extra attacker, Draisaitl capitalized on a blast from the right faceoff circle with 2:14 to go. McDavid assisted on that goal, too.
The Oilers controlled the puck for much of the scoreless first period while outshooting the Blues 13-3. Edmonton generated multiple scoring chances, including two one-time Draisaitl shots from the right side, a point-blank jam attempt by Corey Perry and Brown's shot from close range on the left side.
St. Louis mustered two good scoring chances by Robert Thomas, on a one-time blast from the left faceoff circle and a weak-side follow shot.
The Oilers continued pressuring the Blues in the second period. Evan Bouchard rang a shot off the post, Viktor Arvidsson tested Binnington on a 2-on-1 rush, and Zach Hyman drew a penalty breaking in on right wing.
On the ensuing power play, McDavid whirled in the left circle and snapped a shot past Binnington to put Edmonton up 1-0 at the 5:50 mark of the second period.
The Blues got a golden opportunity to tie the game later in the period, but Skinner stopped Jake Neighbours on a breakaway.
Edmonton went on another power play 61 seconds in the third period, but Binnington stopped Hyman's shot from the low slot.
After killing that penalty, the Blues tied the game 1-1 with a power-play goal. Dylan Holloway shot from the right circle, Brayden Schenn poked the rebound at the left post and the puck rolled to Kyrou at the right post for a tap-in.
Parayko put the Blues up 2-1 with 11:02 left, converting a cross-ice pass from Thomas with a one-time shot from the left circle.
