Flames 3, Ducks 1: Miikka Kiprusoff came within 3:41 of his first shutout of the season and enforcer Brian McGrattan scored his career-high third goal in six games as Calgary held on to win its home finale.
Roman Horak and Roman Cervenka added goals, Mike Cammalleri recorded two assists and Kiprusoff made 32 saves in what may have been his final home game with the Flames, who have won five of seven overall and finished 13-9-2 at Scotiabank Saddledome. Kiprusoff has hinted toward retirement at the end of the season.
Corey Perry scored and Jonas Hiller stopped 28 shots for the Ducks, whose winless streak reached four games (0-3-1). Anaheim remained five points ahead of both Los Angeles and San Jose atop the Pacific Division.
Horak snapped a scoreless tie at 2:45 of the second period as he grabbed the puck after Lee Stempniak's blast hit the post and fired it between Hiller's pads from alone on the right side of the crease. McGrattan doubled the lead 3:14 into the third as he twice chipped the puck past a defender before sliding a backhander between Hiller's pads.
Perry spoiled Kiprusoff's shutout bid when his shot from the right faceoff circle caromed off the left post and in. But Cervenka sealed the win in the final minute with an empty-net goal.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Flames LW Curtis Glencross left the game with 7:09 remaining in the first period following a knee-on-knee collision with Anaheim D Ben Lovejoy. Calgary C Mikael Backlund took exception and instigated a fight with Lovejoy, the first of his NHL career. ... Ducks RW Teemu Selanne was scratched with a lower-body injury. ... Calgary D T.J. Brodie played in his 100th NHL game.
