Michael Cammalleri scored his first goal in 10 games to go along with an assist and defenseman Raphael Diaz set up three tallies as the Montreal Canadiens snapped a five-game losing streak with a 6-2 triumph over the host Ottawa Senators on Tuesday.

Carey Price made 33 saves to snap his own four-game skid and improve to 13-12-7 on the season. It was interim head coach Randy Cunneyworth’s first win for the Canadiens.

After Zack Smith scored for Ottawa, the Canadiens exploded for three goals on their first five shots.

Lars Eller buried his fourth goal of the season on a tremendous shorthanded effort at 5:08 of the first period. After Tomas Plekanec tipped in Diaz’s point shot 7 1/2 minutes later, Cammalleri rounded out the three-goal surge when he banged in his seventh goal of the campaign.

Craig Anderson’s night ended early in the second period when Louis Leblanc finished off a 3-on-2 rush. Alex Auld replaced Anderson, who gave up four goals on seven shots.

After being a healthy scratch, defenseman P.K. Subban gave Montreal a 5-1 lead when he buried a shot from the high slot.

Jason Spezza closed out the second period with his 13th goal of the season.

The Canadiens’ Erik Cole added his 14th of the season on a 5-on-3 power play late in the third period.
