Jerome Messam rushed for 76 yards and a score while DaVaris Daniels made a touchdown catch for Calgary, which moved into sole possession of first place in the West Division despite surrendering six sacks.

Ricky Ray was15-of-26 for 139 yards and a touchdown before suffering a shoulder injury in the third quarter for the Argonauts (3-4), who have dropped back-to-back games for the first time this season. S.J. Green had six receptions for 87 yards and a touchdown while backup quarterback Cody Fajardo rushed for 55 yards and a score for Toronto, which hasn't beaten Calgary since 2013.

Cam Walker recovered a fumble by kick returner Roy Finch to set up Green's 10-yard touchdown catch that opened the scoring, but the Stampeders scored the next 20 points - beginning with a 5-yard TD run by Messam and Rene Paredes' 18-yard field goal. Finch atoned for his mistake when he returned a punt 103 yards for a score early in the second quarter and Paredes converted a 29-yard attempt to make it 20-7 before Lirim Hajrullahu booted a 20-yarder for Toronto, but Daniels turned a short pass into a 44-yard touchdown with one second left to put Calgary ahead 27-10 at the half.

Mitchell, who completed 19 of his 24 pass attempts, fired a 9-yard touchdown strike to McDaniel on the opening possession of the third quarter before Hajrullahu made a 32-yard field goal to pull Toronto within three touchdowns heading into the fourth. Mitchell lobbed a 10-yard scoring pass to McDaniel early in the period and the Stampeders coasted to another impressive win.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Calgary WR Lemar Durant (knee) and Toronto DB Jermaine Gabriel (shoulder) suffered injuries in the first quarter and did not return. … Finch's punt-return touchdown was the second-longest in Stampeders history, two yards shy of the franchise record set by Jesse Branch in 1964. … The Stampeders have outscored opponents 128-35 since their loss to Montreal on July 14.
