KJ Simpson scored 30 points and Colorado overcame a 16-point second-half deficit to beat Southern California 92-89 in double overtime on Saturday night at Los Angeles.

Simpson, who scored 24 of his points after halftime, also had nine rebounds and five assists.

Colorado (17-9, 8-7 Pac-12) rallied for the win after losing four of its previous five games.

USC (10-16, 4-11) has lost nine of its past 11 games.

A jumper in the lane by Boogie Ellis cut Colorado's lead to 90-89 with 1:34 left in the second overtime.

After Simpson made two free throws with 1:09 remaining, Ellis missed a jumper. Colorado's J'Vonne Hadley missed a hook shot, and DJ Rodman grabbed the rebound for the Trojans.

A timeout was called by USC with 12 seconds left with Colorado clinging to a 92-89 lead. When play resumed, Ellis had his 3-point attempt blocked at the buzzer.

Ellis finished with 30 points and five assists. Isaiah Collier supplied 25 points and nine assists and Kobe Johnson added 14 points and four steals for the Trojans.

Tristan da Silva had 18 points and eight rebounds for Colorado. Hadley finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds, and Cody Williams had 14 points.

In the first extra session, a layup by Luke O'Brien with 1:59 left gave Colorado an 80-77 lead.

After Collier made two free throws for USC, da Silva canned a 3-pointer to put the Buffaloes ahead 83-79 with 1:08 remaining.

Ellis was fouled on the following possession and made both ensuing free throws.

Colorado then committed a shot-clock violation, and Collier drove to the basket and scored to tie the game at 83-all with four seconds to go.

Bronny James, son of NBA star LeBron James, made his first and only field goal of the game -- a dunk -- with 9:52 left in regulation to give USC a 65-49 lead. Colorado then went on a 17-3 run to cut the lead to 68-66 with 3:42 remaining.

Simpson capped the outburst with a 3-pointer and scored eight points during that stretch.
