Creighton squandered a 17-point lead in the second half, but the Bluejays came from behind in overtime for a 76-70 win over Providence on Wednesday in Omaha.
The Bluejays (17-13, 8-9 Big East) won their fourth straight game while Providence (16-14, 6-11) lost for the fourth time in six games.
Trailing 63-61 after two minutes into overtime, Creighton's Martin Krampelj sank two free throws to tie the game.
Ty-Shon Alexander followed a 3-point jumper with a dunk to push the lead to 68-63. Maliek White's layup got the Friars to within three at 68-65, but that's as close as Providence would get.
Creighton closed the game on a 7-3 run to earn the victory.
Alexander led the Bluejays with 17 points. Krampelj added 15 points and 10 rebounds. Kaleb Joseph scored 12 and Davion Mintz chipped in with 11 points.
Isaiah Jackson led the Friars with 21 points and eight boards. Alpha Diallo compiled 13 points and 12 rebounds before fouling out.
After trailing by as any as 17 in the second half, the Friars cut the deficit to 57-54 on a layup by Diallo with 1:55 to go. Alexander followed with a jumper pushing the lead back to five.
Drew Edwards made a pair of free throws and the Friars were within one possession again with 31 seconds left. That set the stage for Jackson to tie the game with a layup and a free throw with 14 seconds left.
Mintz had a chance to win the game in regulation, but his jumper was off the mark.
After leading 28-25 at halftime, the Bluejays opened the second half on a 20-7 run to take command and built a 17-point lead on Mintz's 3-point jumper.
Creighton led by as many as 10 points in the first half, but White scored the final five points before intermission and the Friars trailed by only three at the break.
The Bluejays swept the season series, having earned a 79-68 win in Providence in December.
