South Dakota State 73, North Dakota State 67: Nate Wolters scored a game-high 27 points as the Jackrabbits won their second straight Summit League tournament title in Sioux Falls, S.D., clinching an automatic NCAA Tournament bid.
Wolters added six rebounds, six assists and four steals for top-seeded South Dakota State (25-9). Jordan Dykstra finished with 18 points and seven rebounds while Tony Fiegen added 12 points
Taylor Braun scored 23 points and TrayVonn Wright finished with nine points, eight rebounds and three blocks for third-seeded North Dakota State (24-9), which was attempting to return to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2009.
The Bison jumped out to a 7-3 lead as South Dakota State missed four of their first five field goal attempts. But Wolters scored six points during a 16-4 run over the next eight minutes to give the Jackrabbits a 19-11 lead en route to a 29-25 halftime advantage.
Two Fiegen jumpers helped South Dakota State open the second half with a 7-0 run, boosting its lead to 36-25 with 16:36 remaining. The Bison got as close as 54-52 on the third of Mike Felt's three second half 3-pointers with 7:25 left, but Wolters started a 8-2 run with a 3-pointer to put the Jackrabbits back in control down the stretch.
GAME NOTEBOOK: South Dakota State was ranked No. 17 in this week's CollegeInsider.com's Mid-Major Top 25 Poll. ... Wolters scored in double figures for the 71st consecutive game. ... The Jackrabbits shot 91.3 percent from the foul line and committed seven turnovers.
