Georgetown 53, No. 5 Louisville 51: Otto Porter Jr. collected 17 points and 12 rebounds as the Hoyas handed the Cardinals their third straight loss.

Markel Starks added 17 points and Jabril Trawick grabbed nine boards for Georgetown (14-4, 4-3 Big East), which has won four of its last five games after opening Big East play with back-to-back losses.

Luke Hancock, Gorgui Dieng and Russ Smith each scored 12 points but point guard Peyton Siva was held scoreless with two assists and three turnovers while struggling with foul trouble for Louisville (16-4, 4-3). The Cardinals have not won since ascending to the No. 1 ranking on Jan. 14.

The Hoyas held a 52-51 lead with 1:04 left when Porter stepped out of bounds after receiving an inbounds pass. Louisville got two chances on the ensuing possession after a jump ball, but Siva missed a jumper with 10 seconds left to complete his miserable afternoon.

Hancock hit a 3-pointer with 16:39 left to give the Cardinals a 37-35 lead. Louisville would not make another field goal until a Smith jumper with 8:48 to play as Georgetown pushed the lead to as many as six points before the Cardinals clawed back within one.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Louisville has lost three in a row for the first time in nearly three years. The Cardinals host Pittsburgh on Monday. … After shooting 50 percent from the free-throw line in a loss to Villanova earlier in the week, Louisville went 16-for-22 from the line on Saturday. … The Hoyas hit five of their first 10 3-pointers but missed the next seven to finish 5 of 17 from beyond the arc.
