No. 25 Kansas State 70, South Dakota 50: Rodney McGruder had 15 points and nine rebounds as the Wildcats downed the Coyotes for the eighth time in as many meetings.

Nino Williams finished with a flurry to score 16 points and lead four players in double figures for Kansas State (11-2), which improved to 37-1 all-time against Summit League opponents.

Karim Rowson scored a team-high 14 points while Juevol Myles – a Kansas State transfer – scored 13 points and matched a career high with five steals for South Dakota (6-9).

The Wildcats never trailed and raced out to a 24-8 advantage with 8:19 left before intermission, but 10 first-half turnovers allowed South Dakota to hang around and cut a 30-18 halftime lead to five points midway through the second.

However, a field goal drought of 7:08 by the Coyotes gave Kansas State the opening it needed to rebuild a double-digit margin. Shane Southwell scored seven consecutive points near the end of a 12-0 run that left the Wildcats with a 56-39 lead with 5:23 remaining.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Kansas State – the top offensive rebounding team in the country at 17.2 per game – matched a season low with 10. … South Dakota, which turned in its second-worst shooting effort from the field this season (32.7 percent), continued its domination of opponents at the foul line. The Coyotes, who attempted 22 free throws to the Wildcats' 13 on Monday, have nearly made as many free throws (260) as their opponents have attempted (263). … The 13 steals collected by South Dakota were a season high.
