C.J. Harris scored a game-high 20 points, including four 3-pointers, to lead the host Demon Deacons past the Paladins.

Travis McKie added 16 points and Tyler Cavanaugh chipped in 12 points off the bench to help Wake Forest (5-5) improve to 4-2 at home. The Demon Deacons, behind Devin Thomas’ game-high seven rebounds, outrebounded the Paladins, 32-24.

Furman (3-7) lost its second consecutive game. The Paladins were led by Colin Reddick and Stephen Croone, who scored 12 points apiece.

Bryant Irwin made a 3-pointer to give the Paladins a 30-27 lead with 2:28 left in the first half before Wake Forest scored the final 10 points for a 37-30 lead at halftime. The Demon Deacons never trailed in the second half.

Furman shot 36.5 percent (19-for-52) from the field, while Wake Forest shot 53.8 percent (28-for-52).

GAME NOTEBOOK: Wake Forest shot 81.8 percent (18-for-22) from the free-throw line. … Furman shot 52.6 percent (10-for-19) from the foul line. … Wake Forest improved to 15-7 in the series. The schools were Southern Conference rivals for 17 seasons from 1937-53.
