No. 12 Cincinnati 92, Maryland-Eastern Shore 60: Sean Kilpatrick scored 19 of his 23 points in the first half as the host Bearcats used stifling defense to pound the winless Hawks.
Cashmere Wright buried six 3-pointers en route to 20 points and handed out a season-high nine assists for Cincinnati (9-0), which held Maryland-Eastern Shore (0-9) to 29.9 percent shooting, including just 18.4 percent in the first half.
The Bearcats never trailed and started out hot from beyond the arc by hitting seven of their first 10 attempts, including four by Wright, on their way to establishing a 32-10 advantage just 11:29 into the first half.
Cincinnati took a 52-23 lead into the break and stretched its margin to as many as 37 points in the second half.
Kyree Jones had a game-high 25 points – his fifth 20-point performance of the season – for the Hawks, who are off to their worst start since opening 0-12 in 2002-03.
