Ben Brust scored 21 points on a school-record seven 3-pointers as No. 11 Wisconsin hit 13 from beyond the arc in a 73-56 victory over BYU on Saturday to win the Chicago Invitational Challenge.
The Badgers (6-0) jumped out to a 22-8 lead, squandered all of it and clung to a 36-34 lead at the half.
Wisconsin pulled away in the second half, embarking on a 19-4 run sparked by several of Brust’s 3s to open up a 65-46 lead with 4:25 remaining.
Jordan Taylor added 18 points, while Mike Bruesewitz and Jared Berggren had 13 apiece for Wisconsin, which allowed a season-high 56 points.
Noah Hartsock led the Cougars (4-2) with 18 points, after tallying a career-best 21 in the semifinals against Nevada.
BYU went 1-of-10 from 3-point land, a stark contrast to Wisconsin’s 13-of-24 performance.
