No. 20 Indiana 85, Purdue 74: Four different players scored in double figures as Indiana built a big early lead and held on for a home win over in-state rival Purdue.
Back-to-back 3-pointers by Matt Roth capped a 10-0 first-half run that
gave Indiana a 28-13 cushion. The Hoosiers (24-7, 11-7 Big Ten) made 20 of 30 shots from the
floor, including eight of 14 from beyond the arc, to build a 49-34 halftime
advantage. Purdue (20-11, 10-8 Big Ten) rallied to get as close as 77-71 on a Ryne Smith
3-pointer with 1:20 remaining, but the Hoosiers made eight of 10 free
throws down the stretch to seal it.
Christian Watford scored 19 points and Will Sheehey added 16 to lead a
balanced Indiana attack that featured six different players with nine
points or more. Lewis Jackson and Robbie Hummel paced five Boilermakers
in double digits, scoring 17 and 16 points, respectively.
With the victory, the Hoosiers locked up the fifth seed in the Big Ten Tournament, while the Boilermakers were bumped down to the sixth spot.
