COLORADO STATE 66, UNLV 59:
Dorian Green had 14 of his team-high 16 points in the second half as the host Rams overcame a 15-point halftime deficit.

UNLV’s hopes of earning its first Mountain West title since 2000 are effectively over. San Diego State and New Mexico each won Wednesday, and the Rebels (24-7, 8-5 MWC) trail both by one game with one to play.

Colorado State (18-10, 7-6), meanwhile, climbed into a tie for fourth with TCU, which will host San Diego State on Saturday in the season finale.

UNLV took a 41-26 lead at halftime before coming unglued. The Rams used a 27-11 run to take a 53-52 lead - its first of the game - with 6:57 left. From there, they extended the lead to five as the Rebels couldn’t convert on the offensive end.

The Rebels made only two field goals over the game’s final 11 minutes and were outscored 40-18 in the second half. They missed 10 of their final 12 shots and also committed three turnovers.

Oscar Bellfield had a team-high 17 points for UNLV, but 14 of them came in the first half. Anthony Marshall finished with 11 points on 5-of-9 shooting and also grabbed six rebounds.

Wes Eikmeier had 11 points and Pierce Hornung added six points and eight rebounds for the Rams, who finished unbeaten at home in league play for the first time since the 1960-61 season.

The blown lead was nothing new to UNLV. In a 102-97 loss at TCU on Feb. 14, the Rebels blew an 18-point second half deficit.

GAME NOTEBOOK: All seven of UNLV’s losses have come on the road. … The Rams improved to 3-3 against ranked opponents, the first time in school history they defeated three ranked teams. … Colorado State held a 32-27 advantage in rebounds. … The Rebels fell to 33-10 in the all-time series and 14-6 in Fort Collins. ...
