MICHIGAN STATE 62, NEBRASKA 34: Draymond Green scored 20 points and became the fourth player in school history to reach 1,000 career rebounds as the No. 6 Spartans held the visiting Cornhuskers to their lowest point total since 1961.

Green posted his conference-leading 17th double-double with 10 rebounds as Michigan State (24-5, 13-3 Big Ten) held Nebraska (12-15, 4-12) to 29.2 percent shooting and improved to 17-0 at home.

The Huskers quickly fell behind 7-0 but played the Spartans to a virtual draw for the remainder of the half, trailing 23-15 at halftime. Bo Spencer – Nebraska’s leading scorer – left the game with an apparent left ankle injury and did not return after landing awkwardly on a put-back attempt at the buzzer.

Without Spencer to contend with, Michigan State forced seven turnovers and allowed only two field goals during a 25-4 run over the first 10:09 of the second half as the Spartans quickly put the game away.

Michigan State led by as many as 32 points before emptying its bench in the final minutes.

Brandon Ubel scored 13 points for the Cornhuskers, who have lost each of their last four road games by at least 10 points.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Michigan State did not miss its first field goal attempt of the second half until the 8:39 mark. Including three straight made baskets to close the first half, the Spartans hit 12 consecutive shots. … Nebraska managed only five free throw attempts, marking the eighth time this season the conference’s top free-throw shooting team has failed to attempt at least 10 free throws in a game.
