PURDUE 75, MICHIGAN 61: Terone Johnson scored a career-high 22 points as the Boilermakers stunned the Wolverines and ended their 15-game home winning streak.
Robbie Hummel added 17 points and nine rebounds for Purdue (19-10, 9-7 Big Ten), which was desperate for a marquee victory and likely punched its ticket to the NCAA Tournament with the win.
Purdue was 0-7 against Top 25 opponents.
Trey Burke had a team-high 12 points for Michigan (21-8, 11-5), which snapped its four-game winning streak and all but ruined its chances at a Big Ten regular-season title. The Wolverines are two games behind first-place Michigan State with two to play.
Michigan took a 42-40 lead - its first of the game - on Jordan Morgan’s layup with 12:19 left. Purdue, which led 32-28 at the half, responded with a 21-9 run over the next nine minutes to regain the lead at 61-51 with 3:40 left.
The Boilermakers, who shot 50 percent, scored on 11 of 13 possessions at one point as they built their lead to as many as 16.
Zack Novak had 12 points and six rebounds and Tim Hardaway Jr. added 10 and six for Michigan, which made only four shots over an eight-minute stretch late.
The Wolverines shot 9 for 32 from 3-point range, one game after going 14 for 38 in a 67-55 overtime victory at Northwestern.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Purdue improved to 5-3 in Big Ten road games. … The Boilermakers became the first team to score more than 70 against Michigan since Iowa had 75 in a victory on Jan. 14. … The Wolverines have lost three of their last four at home against Purdue.
