KANSAS 87, MISSOURI 86 (OT): Thomas Robinson scored 18 of his 28 points after halftime, and Tyshawn Taylor hit two go-ahead free throws with 8.3 seconds left to cap a furious comeback for the No. 5 Jayhawks over the third-ranked Tigers.

Robinson had a three-point play with 16 seconds left in regulation to force overtime, and then Taylor scored nine points in the extra session for the Jayhawks (24-5, 14-2 Big 12), helping them clinch at least a share of their eighth consecutive Big 12 title.

After Missouri (25-4, 12-4 Big 12) pulled ahead 86-85 on a Marcus Denmon runner with 12 seconds remaining, Taylor raced down the court and was fouled by Mizzou point guard Phil Pressey.

Taylor sunk both free throws to regain the lead, and the Tigers still had time to hit a possible game-winner, but Michael Dixon let time expire before even attempting a shot.

Kansas trailed 44-32 at halftime and by as many as 19 after the break, but it held Missouri without a field goal for a seven-minute stretch to erase the deficit.

The Tigers dropped their 13th straight game at Allen Fieldhouse to split the season series. Kansas now holds a 172-95 advantage in a storied series that has no current plans to continue after Missouri’s scheduled departure for the SEC next season.

In a bitter rivalry with numerous classic games, this was one of the finest.

Missouri took a 55-36 edge on Ricardo Ratliffe’s inside layup three minutes into the second half, but Kansas clamped down on defense to storm back. Robinson started demanding the ball in the post, and he scored seven points over the final 3:23 to tie the game at 75-75.

The Jayhawks took their first lead since the first half on Tyshawn Taylor’s 3-pointer to open overtime.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The 19-point deficit was Kansas’ largest of the season … The 267 meetings between these two schools is the eighth-most in any series … The Jayhawks have won 90 of their past 91 home games.
