Jamaal Franklin hit a runner with 0.3 seconds left to give No. 22 San Diego State a 69-67 win over No. 12 UNLV Saturday at Viejas Arena in both teams’ Mountain West Conference opener.

Franklin earned his third double-double of the season with 24 points, and 10 rebounds, while James Rahon added 22 points for San Diego State (15-2, 1-0 MWC.)

The win was the Aztecs eighth in a row and sixth straight over UNLV. Since the beginning of the 2010-11 season San Diego State is 10-1 in games decided by three points or less.

San Diego State held UNLV its lowest field-goal percentage of the season, 35.3 percent.

The Runnin’ Rebels kept the game close with a 19-6 advantage in offensive rebounds and a 10-4 advantage in second-chance points. The loss snapped a seven game win streak for UNLV (16-3, 0-1 MWC.)

UNLV entered shooting 47 percent from the field, but started ice cold making just four of its first 26 shots. Anthony Marshall tied a career-high 26 points to lead the Rebels.

San Diego State has won 20 straight at home against current MWC members.
