Rickey Scott scored a career-high 23 points and Arkansas defeated visiting Charlotte 80-67 on Wednesday for its fourth straight victory.
Scott, a sophomore guard, scored in double figures for the seventh time this season. He was 9-of-14 from the field as the Razorbacks (9-3) improved to 9-0 at the Bud Walton Arena. Mardracus Wade hit four 3-pointers and scored 14 points for Arkansas.
DeMario Mayfield had 11 points and 10 rebounds for Charlotte (7-4), which has lost two straight. The 49ers also got 11 points apiece from K.J. Sherrill, Javarris Barnett and Derrio Green, who made three 3-pointers.
The Razorbacks put the stop to any notion of a Charlotte upset by racing to a 23-7 lead in the first half. The 49ers never really threatened as they failed to cut the margin to single-digits and only got as close as 11 points again in the final minute.
