Josh Owens scored 19 points to lead four Stanford players in double figures and the Cardinal erased a 12-point deficit in the second half to beat N.C. State 76-72 at Maples Pavilion.
N.C. State (5-3) led by seven points with 7:48 left in a home loss to Indiana on Wednesday, and the Wolfpack faded late again Sunday.
The Wolfpack did not make a field goal for a span of 7:08 down the stretch, as Stanford (8-1) took command with a 19-3 run.
Playing their third game in seven days, the Cardinal had a tough time getting their legs. They shot 36.2 percent (21 of 58) but hit their free throws down the stretch, going 29 of 34 from the line.
C.J. Leslie scored 14 first-half points to lead N.C. State to a 35-31 halftime lead, but he left with a bruised thigh in the second half. N.C. State also was without its best outside shooter in Scott Wood, who fouled out with 5:01 left.
C.J. Williams led N.C. State with 18 points.
The narrow victory snapped a streak of nine consecutive wins by double digits for Stanford.
N.C. State's last win over a Pac-12 team was against Arizona State on Jan. 29, 2000, and the Wolfpack's last road win against the Pac-12 was at Oregon State on Dec. 22, 1993.
