Charlie Enquist set career highs with 20 points and 12 rebounds as shorthanded Washington State routed visiting Eastern Washington 75-49 on Saturday.
Brock Motum and Reggie Moore each chipped in 15 points for the Cougars (4-4), who ended their three-game slide with an impressive victory over an Eagles team that held second-half leads in its only other losses at Gonzaga and Oregon.
The Cougars’ win was all the more impressive considering the absences of four players, including leading scorer Faisal Aden, who is out with a concussion.
Washington State trailed 14-13 in the early going, but rolled off 14 unanswered points over a three-minute stretch to establish a double-digit lead.
Despite the Cougars’ 21 turnovers, the Eagles (4-3) never threatened thereafter.
Eastern Washington entered the game averaging a Big Sky-leading 10.3 3-pointers, but gave itself no chance to compete as it went only 4-of-23 from beyond the arc and trailed by as many as 28 late in the second half.
Collin Chiverton paced the Eagles with 12 points.
