Jae Crowder netted 27 points and No. 16 Marquette pulled away from visiting Jacksonville in the second half for an 88-56 victory Monday.

Darius Johnson-Odom contributed 19 points and Todd Mayo chipped in 14 off the bench as the Golden Eagles (6-0) stayed unbeaten in an easy tuneup before Saturday's in-state rivalry game against No. 7 Wisconsin.

Johnson-Odom had six of the points as Marquette closed the first half on a 7-0 spurt that started a 32-9 run that spanned the break. His 3-pointer at the buzzer, the Golden Eagles' first of the game, gave them a 37-28 cushion.

Marquette held a 29-9 margin in free throw attempts (they made 17) and went to the line 22 times before Jacksonville got there – and that only came via a three-point play by Delwan Graham with 15:40 remaining. That made it 45-35 before the hosts responded with an 11-0 run.

Graham's 13 points paced the Dolphins (2-4). Chris Davis added 12 and Tevin Galvin had 10 in his second game back after missing the first four with an ankle injury,

Marquette finished right at its 88 points per game average, which ranked fifth in the nation, with the Golden Eagles having topped 90 in four times.

The Golden Eagles held off Norfolk State 59-57 to win the U.S. Virgin Islands Paradise Jam tournament on Nov. 21, a week after beating the Spartans 99-68.

Crowder, the former National Junior College player of the year, had scored 25 points twice this season.

Jacksonville was coming off a 107-62 thumping by Florida on Friday.
