Host Oregon put the defensive clamps on Southeast Missouri State, holding the Redhawks without a field goal for over 10 minutes en route to an 86-61 victory.

Forward E.J. Singler scored 21 points on 8-for-10 shooting and added seven rebounds. Guard Garret Sim added 14 as Oregon (2-1) spread out the scoring among nine players, each of whom had five points or more.

The Ducks found themselves in a tight battle early and were up just 24-21 after Nino Johnson’s dunk with 5:36 left in the first half. But the Redhawks wouldn’t score again in the half and Oregon went on a 14-0 tear to go into intermission with a 38-21 lead.

Southeast Missouri (1-3) didn’t get its next score until the 17:17 mark of the second half on a free throw by Tyler Stone. The Redhawks didn’t get a field goal until the 14:09 mark, by which the time Nick Niemczyk’s 3-pointer was nowhere near enough to make the game competitive.

Stone led Southeast Missouri with 20 points and had five rebounds and a couple of blocks as well.
