Two nights after surviving a cold shooting performance in its season opener, Georgia shot much better in a 63-54 home victory over Bowling Green.
The Bulldogs shot 48.9 percent (22-of-45), after shooting just 33.9 percent in a 62-49 victory over Wofford.
The Bulldogs led by as many as 13 late in the first half, but the Falcons rallied to pull within 48-43 on Dee Brown’s three-point play with 2:49 remaining. Georgia hit 10 of 14 free throws in the final 2:01.
Gerald Robinson led Georgia with 15 points. Freshman Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, who scored 13 points in his college debut Friday, did not score in the first half but finished with 11 points.
Dee Brown led Bowling Green (1-1) with 15 points.
Georgia hosts South Dakota State on Wednesday, then opens a 12-day stretch in which the Bulldogs will face No. 24 California, No. 15 Xavier and No. 22 Cincinnati.
Bowling Green hosts Austin Peay on Nov. 21 at the Stroh Center, which the Falcons opened with a 63-48 victory Friday over Howard.
