Randy Culpepper scored 24 points off the bench and UTEP earned a 65-56 victory over Michigan in the consolation game of the Legends Classic on Saturday evening in Atlantic City, N.J.
The Miners (4-2) opened the second half with 13 straight points to break a 29-29 tie, holding the Wolverines without a field goal for the first 11:23 of the second period. By the time Darius Morris broke the dry spell, Michigan was already in a double-digit hole, and it would get no closer than eight the rest of the way.
