The Hawks had the hot hand from the jump and back-to-back 3-pointers from Paul Millsap pushed their early advantage to 26-12 with 3:06 left in the opening quarter before the Kings closed the period on a 14-2 run, led by seven from Thomas, to trail 28-26. A 3-pointer from Jimmer Fredette gave Sacramento its first lead just under two minutes into the second stanza and, after Atlanta regained control when Teague scored four points to cap a 12-4 run, the Kings closed out the half on a 14-6 spurt to lead 54-53 at intermission.

Sacramento edged the Hawks 33-32 in the third quarter, with Derrick Williams' 3-pointer with 20.8 seconds on the clock the difference-maker, to hit the final frame up 87-85. Mike Scott hit a pair of 3-pointers as Atlanta opened the fourth on a 10-4 run to go ahead for good, and the Hawks would pour it on down the stretch to improve to 6-1 in their last seven home games.
