Dylan Bundy threw 6 1/3 shutout innings in his best outing of the season, and the Los Angeles Angels beat the Texas Rangers 5-0 in the finale of the four-game series on Thursday afternoon in Arlington, Texas.

Bundy (2-8) gave up three hits, struck out six and walked two in his second start since being demoted to the bullpen for a month. He improved to 6-2 in his career against the Rangers with a 3.12 ERA.

Adam Eaton hit his first homer with the Angels, who won the past three games to take three of four in the series. David Fletcher had two hits and Jose Iglesias added two RBIs for Los Angeles.

Rangers right-hander Spencer Howard (0-3) made his team debut following his trade from the Philadelphia Phillies on Friday in exchange for All-Star right-hander Kyle Gibson and veteran closer Ian Kennedy.

Howard, a second-round pick of the Phillies in the 2017 MLB Draft and the No. 1 prospect in their organization at the start of this season, allowed three runs and three hits in 2 1/3 innings. He struck out three and walked two.

Eaton, who was released by the Chicago White Sox and signed by the Angels on July 14, led off the third inning with a home run to right field for a 1-0 lead.

Following a single by Jack Mayfield on an 0-2 pitch, Fletcher hit a grounder to first baseman Nathaniel Lowe. He tried to underhand a throw to Howard covering first, but Howard wasn't expecting the ball and the error put runners on second and third with no outs.

Mayfield scored on a wild pitch, and Fletcher came home on a sacrifice fly to extend the lead to 3-0.

The Angels took advantage of another error to put runners on second and third with no outs in the sixth inning. Iglesias followed with a two-run single through the drawn-in infield to stretch the lead to 5-0.

Junior Guerra threw 1 1/3 innings of shutout relief, and Steve Cishek and Raisel Iglesias combined to blank the Rangers for another 1 1/3 innings.
