Rookie Miguel Andujar hit a 12th-inning sacrifice fly to lead the visiting New York Yankees to a 2-1 win over the Miami Marlins on Tuesday night.

New York loaded the bases with one out in the 12th as Kyle Higashioka singled, Brett Gardner walked and Aaron Hicks was hit by a pitch, all off reliever Javy Guerra (1-1). Andujar then hit a 95 mph fastball to left field, and it was just deep enough to score Higashioka from third.

New York's A.J. Cole (4-1) earned the win by working out of a bases-loaded, no-out jam in the 11th.

Yankees closer Aroldis Chapman, trying for his 32nd save of the season, exited the 12th inning after just six pitches due to the recurrence of a left knee injury. Tommy Kahnle got the last three outs for his fourth career save and his first since 2016.

Chapman is expected to undergo an MRI exam Wednesday.

The game marked the return of right fielder Giancarlo Stanton to Marlins Park.

Stanton, who was named the 2017 National League MVP while hitting 59 home runs for the Marlins, was traded over the winter in a cost-cutting move.

The fans -- attendance at Marlins Park was much bigger than usual with an announced crowd of 26,275 -- gave Stanton a standing ovation when he came to bat in the first inning.

Stanton went 2-for-6 with a double and three strikeouts against Miami pitching, and the Marlins honored him with a video tribute in the second inning.

New York opened the scoring in the fourth as Andujar and Gleyber Torres singled to start the rally. With one out, Neil Walker hit an RBI single to right, going to the opposite field on a 3-2 changeup.

Miami tied the score in the fifth as rookie Austin Dean jumped on the first pitch for a leadoff homer to left-center. Dean, who crushed an 87-mph splitter, got his first major-league hit last week -- a home run. This homer was his first base hit at Marlins Park.

Yankees reliever Chad Green sent the game to extra innings, working out of a jam he created. With runners on first and third and no outs in the ninth, he got a pair of strikeouts and a groundout to keep the score tied.
