MINNEAPOLIS -- Freddy Galvis had a career high five RBIs to lead the Philadelphia Phillies to a 7-3 win over the Minnesota Twins on Thursday afternoon at Target Field.

The win snapped a nine-game losing streak for the Phillies, giving them their first win since June 13.

Galvis knocked in a run on a safety squeeze in the second inning, an RBI triple in the sixth and capped his afternoon with a three-run homer off Twins reliever Kevin Jepsen in the eighth inning.

Ryan Howard also homered and had his first two-hit day since the end of April. Cesar Hernandez had four hits, a walk and scored three times.

Phillies right-hander Jerad Eickhoff (5-9) got the win after allowing two runs -- only one of them earned -- on five hits and a walk in six innings of work. Eickhoff has allowed three earned runs or fewer in all five of his June starts.

Eduardo Escobar had an RBI single and Brian Dozier a run-scoring double for the Twins, who failed to earn just their third sweep of the season.

Ricky Nolasco (3-5) took the loss for Minnesota, allowing four runs on 10 hits and four walks in 6 2/3 innings.

Dozier's RBI double into the left-field corner plated Escobar in the bottom of the first inning to give the Twins an early 1-0 lead.

But the Phillies answered back in the second, getting a solo blast from Howard before Galvis' squeeze scored Cody Asche from third for a 2-1 lead.

Odubel Herrera's RBI single to left center scored Hernandez in the fourth for a two-run lead before Escobar's single to center got the Twins back to within 3-2 in the bottom of the fifth.

Galvis tripled high off the wall in right field to score another run in the sixth before his three-run shot in the eighth broke the game open.

The Twins got back-to-back leadoff singles off Jeanmar Gomez in the ninth, but settled for a single run on Byung Ho Park's sacrifice fly to right.
