Corbin Carroll, Pavin Smith, Josh Naylor and Geraldo Perdomo homered, Brandon Pfaadt pitched six scoreless innings and the Arizona Diamondbacks shut out the Baltimore Orioles 9-0 in Phoenix on Wednesday.
Carroll, Perdomo, Smith and Naylor -- the top four in the Arizona lineup -- were 11-for-17 with four homers, seven RBIs and seven runs. Naylor had three hits and three RBIs, Smith had three hits and two RBIs and Perdomo had three hits.
Right-hander Pfaadt (2-1) gave up four hits, all singles, struck out three and walked two. He threw 93 pitches -- 55 for strikes -- as the Diamondbacks won their second straight after a three-game losing streak.
The Orioles, who have lost six of eight, will be without Opening Day starter Zach Eflin for the near future after he was placed on the 15-day injured list with a low-grade right lat strain before the game.
Carroll's homer gave the Diamondbacks a 2-0 lead in the third inning off Orioles starter Dean Kremer (1-2), and Smith and Naylor hit back-to-back homers in a five-run fifth inning for a 7-0 lead.
Carroll has five homers, tied for the National League lead with six others, including teammate Eugenio Suarez. Carroll has reached base in all 13 games this season.
The Orioles had two runners on base just twice in six innings off Pfaadt. Gunnar Henderson and Adley Rutschman singled with one out in the sixth, but Pfaadt got his last batter faced, Ryan O'Hearn, to ground into a double play.
Kremer gave up eight hits and six runs in 4 2/3 innings, leaving with two outs in Arizona's fiv-run fifth. He struck out four and walked one.
Carroll singled on the first pitch in Arizona's half of the first inning and took third on Perdomo's single before scoring on Naylor's sacrifice fly.
Carroll hit the second pitch he saw leading off the third for a 413-foot homer and a 2-0 lead.
Perdomo singled before homers by Smith and Naylor made it 5-0 in the fifth. Tim Tawa's two-run single off reliever Cionel Perez capped the five-run inning.
Perdomo homered and Naylor singled in a run to complete the scoring in the eighth.
