Phillies starter Ranger Suarez (2-1) tossed five-plus innings and gave up six hits and five runs, three earned. He struck out three and walked two.

The Rangers went ahead 2-0 in the top of the first inning when Garver hit a two-run home run to left-center field with two outs.

The Phillies quickly tied the game at 2 in the bottom of the first when Hoskins lined a two-run double to left. Nick Solak appeared to be in position to make the play, but the ball bounced under his glove and all the way to the fence. Gregorius added an RBI single and the Phillies took a 3-2 advantage.

Heim launched a solo homer to left in the fourth to equalize at 3.

Garver flied out to right with the bases loaded to end a scoring threat in the fifth.

Texas moved back ahead 5-3 in the sixth when Reks came in to pinch-hit and lined a two-run double to right. Semien followed with an RBI infield single for a three-run lead.

Realmuto lofted a solo homer in the eighth to close the Phillies within 6-4.
