Dodgers 6, Yankees 0:
Yasiel Puig homered and Chris Capuano came off the disabled list to throw six strong innings as visiting Los Angeles earned a split of a day-night doubleheader.

Puig scored three times and Adrian Gonzalez had three hits and an RBI for the Dodgers, who were visiting the Bronx for the first time since winning the 1981 World Series at the old Yankee Stadium.

Capuano (2-4) was activated after a 6-4 loss in the first game of the doubleheader and allowed only three hits without walking a batter. Chris Withrow followed with two perfect innings and Brandon League finished off the three-hitter.

Los Angeles got four straight hits off Phil Hughes (3-6) to start the game, with RBI singles from Gonzalez and Hanley Ramirez staking the team to an early 2-0 lead. Andre Ethier’s double made it 3-0 in the third and the Dodgers added two more runs in the fifth.

Adam Warren came on in relief of Hughes in the seventh and gave up Puig’s home run on his first pitch. The rookie sensation reached out for a slider and sliced it into the stands in right for his fifth home run in 15 games.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
Ramirez went 6-for-8 with a home run and four RBIs in the doubleheader. … Hughes was charged with five runs on 10 hits in six innings to fall to 1-4 in his last seven starts. … The Dodgers will head back home to open a four-game series at San Diego on Thursday while New York will continue its homestand against Tampa Bay.
