Tigers 11, Blue Jays 1: Prince Fielder drove in four runs and Torii Hunter knocked in three to back Doug Fister’s eight strong innings as Detroit cruised past visiting Toronto.

Austin Jackson added three hits, an RBI and scored three times for the Tigers, who won two of three in the series. Fister (2-0) scattered eight hits and allowed one run while striking out five and walking one.

Melky Cabrera and Colby Rasmus each recorded a pair of hits and Mark DeRosa lofted a sacrifice fly in the second inning for the Blue Jays, who have given up 37 runs the last four games.

Toronto starter Josh Johnson (0-1) was knocked out after getting only four outs, allowing six runs on seven hits in the shortest outing of his career. Jackson, Hunter and Fielder registered RBI singles and Miguel Cabrera ripped his first triple since July of 2010 to knock home another as the Tigers scored five times in the second inning for a 6-1 lead.

Hunter singled home a pair of runs and Fielder’s double plated two more in the fifth for Detroit, which totaled 42 hits in the series. Fielder collected his 14th RBI with a sacrifice fly in the seventh and Jhonny Peralta added three hits for the Tigers.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Blue Jays have lost the first three series of the season for the first time since 1978, when they dropped the first four. … Detroit 2B Omar Infante had a pair of singles and has at least one hit in all eight games he’s played this season. He also had a sacrifice fly for his fourth RBI. … The Tigers start a nine-game road trip at Oakland on Friday while Toronto visits Kansas City to start a three-game series.
