Braves 8, Dodgers 1: Dan Uggla hit a pair of homers and visiting Atlanta earned a split in the four-game series.

Freddie Freeman had two hits and three RBIs to finish 7-for-17 in the series and Jason Heyward had two singles, two walks and scored twice for the Braves. Atlanta starter Mike Minor (8-2) allowed one run and six hits in six innings to improve to 5-0 since May 8.

Dodgers starter Matt Magill (0-2) was a late replacement after Ted Lilly went on the 15-disabled list with a neck strain. Magill, who in his last start became the first pitcher in major-league history to allow nine walks and four homers in the same game, gave up seven runs (three earned), four hits and six walks in 3 2/3 innings.

The Braves loaded the bases in the third on a walk, an error and Freeman’s single. Evan Gattis tied the score at 1 with a sacrifice fly and Uggla then hit a three-run homer off Magill for a 4-1 lead.

Freeman hit a three-run double in the fourth to knock Magill from the game and Uggla, who also homered in Saturday’s 2-1 victory, led off the fifth with a homer to push the lead to 8-1. Dodgers rookie Yasiel Puig doubled in the seventh and singled in the ninth to finish 3-for-5 and bump his average to .464 through his first seven major-league games.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Dodgers OF Skip Schumaker had an infield single in the first to give Los Angeles a 1-0 lead and extend his hitting streak to 15 games. The streak began with a single against the Braves in his only plate appearance May 17. … Dodgers OF Andre Ethier sat out with a sore left foot. The Dodgers are already without SS Hanley Ramirez and OFs Matt Kemp and Carl Crawford, all of whom have hamstring issues. … Atlanta OF Justin Upton had two walks and two runs scored, but failed to record an RBI for the 13th straight game.
