Reds 3, Phillies 2: Bronson Arroyo pitched three-hit ball into the ninth inning and Jay Bruce hit his team-leading 26th home run to help visiting Cincinnati beat Philadelphia for the second straight night.

Arroyo (10-7) retired the first 14 batters he faced before Domonic Brown jumped on a first-pitch sinker for a solo homer with two outs in the fifth. The veteran right-hander struck out four before leaving after giving up a leadoff single in the ninth to win for the sixth time in his last seven starts and defeat the Phillies for the first time since 2000. He was charged with two runs in eight innings.

Aroldis Chapman finished it off for Arroyo, allowing an RBI single to Ty Wigginton before picking up his 31st save and matching a franchise record by converting his 23rd consecutive save opportunity. John Franco (1988) and Rob Dibble (1991) held the previous mark.

The Reds staked Arroyo to a 2-0 lead in the fifth, getting RBI singles from Drew Stubbs and Ryan Ludwick. Brown's homer cut it to 2-1, but Bruce launched a solo shot into the second deck in right in the eighth. Arroyo and Chapman made it stand up.

Phillies starter Vance Worley (6-9) put together his best outing of the month, allowing two runs on eight hits over six innings, but remained winless in his last four starts.

Brown had two of Philadelphia's four hits.
