Marlins 3, Indians 2: Reliever Joe Smith's throwing error set up Hanley Ramirez's go-ahead sacrifice fly in the eighth, and Miami snapped Cleveland's four-game winning streak in the opener of an interleague series at Progressive Field.

Smith's throw to second in the eighth glanced off baserunner Bryan Peterson and into right field, allowing Peterson to advance to third, and Ramirez drove him home with a fly ball to center.

Carlos Zambrano (2-2) turned in his seventh straight quality start for the Marlins, who have won 13 of their last 17 games. He held Cleveland to two runs on four hits over seven innings while working around five walks.

The Indians took a 2-0 lead on an RBI double by Casey Kotchman and a run-scoring single by Shin-Soo Choo in the second, but the Marlins chipped away. They broke the goose-egg on Omar Infante's fielder's choice in the third and tied the game on Greg Dobbs' sacrifice fly in the sixth.

Tony Sipp (0-2) took the loss, charged with the Marlins' unearned run in the eighth.
