Reds 6, Marlins 5: Scott Rolen's infield single to third capped a two-run ninth inning as host Cincinnati rallied to beat Miami in the rubber match of a three-game series.

Rolen's sharp grounder to third with one out was fielded by Miami third baseman Hanley Ramirez, but Ramirez could not make a throw as Drew Stubbs scored the game-winning run.

The Marlins led 5-4 in the bottom of the ninth before Cincinnati’s Jay Bruce hit his second home run of the day -- a solo shot off new Miami closer Heath Bell (0-1) -- to tie the game at 5-5.

The Marlins rallied from a 4-2 deficit in the seventh with three runs. Chris Coghlan’s pinch-hit double to right-center scored pinch runner Gaby Sanchez, and Brett Hayes scored on Jose Reyes’ groundout to tie the game at 4-4.

Emilo Bonifacio then singled to right, scoring Coghlan to give Miami a 5-4 lead.

Carlos Zambrano’s Miami debut got off to a rocky start as Cincinnati jumped to a 3-0 first-inning lead. Zambrano settled down after that, allowing Bruce’s sixth-inning solo homer but otherwise keeping the Reds at bay. The burly right-hander was charged with four hits and four runs in six innings, walking two and striking out six.

Bronson Arroyo gave up 10 hits and five runs (four earned). Aroldis Chapman (1-0) got the victory, striking out three in two scoreless innings of relief.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Reds play host to World Series champion and NL Central rival St. Louis on Monday. … Bonifacio stole his third base in two games. … Bruce has hit three homers in three games. … After struggling at the plate in their first two games, the Marlins have 23 hits in their past two contests.
