Dexter Fowler’s two-out single in the bottom of the 13th inning lifted the Colorado Rockies to a 7-6 victory over the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday.

Mark Ellis doubled with two out against Blake Hawksworth (2-4) and scored easily on Fowler’s hit down the left-field line as Colorado moved ahead of the Dodgers and into sole possession of third place in the National League West.

Aaron Miles and Trent Oeltjen homered in the 12th inning to give Los Angeles a 6-4 lead. The left-handed hitting Miles hit an opposite-field blast off Matt Reynolds and Oeltjen added an inside-the-park homer to center when the ball got past a diving attempt by Fowler.

Dodgers closer Javy Guerra blew his first save in 11 opportunities by allowing an RBI double to Todd Helton and a run-scoring groundout to Eliezer Alfonzo in the bottom of the 12th.

Colorado tied the score at 4-4 in the seventh on a single by Eric Young Jr. He reached base four times, stole three bases and scored twice.

Matt Kemp had three of Los Angeles’ 17 hits, including a run-scoring single. Juan Rivera added a two-run single.

Helton had three hits, including a homer, on his 38th birthday and Carlos Gonzalez had two RBIs. J.C. Romero (1-0) pitched an inning for the win.

Dodgers starter Ted Lilly left after 4 2/3 innings with a stiff neck.
