Ross Ohlendorf homered and tossed seven innings for his first victory since July 2, 2010, as the visiting Pittsburgh Pirates beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 6-2 on Thursday.

Winless in his last 15 starts, Ohlendorf (1-2) was tied with Cincinnati’s Dontrelle Willis for the longest active such streak in the majors. He gave up two runs on four hits while striking out six.

After the Dodgers loaded the bases in the ninth inning against Evan Meek, Joel Hanrahan retired Aaron Miles on a flyout to earn his 38th save.

Ohlendorf, who had never had an extra-base hit or RBI in 110 career plate appearances, hit a three-run blast in the second off Dana Eveland (2-1), who allowed four runs in five innings.

The Dodgers trailed 4-2 after third baseman Russ Mitchell hit his fourth career homer to lead off the fifth. Catcher Tim Federowicz followed with a single for his first major league hit.

Pittsburgh added to its lead with run-scoring hits by Ryan Doumit and Ryan Ludwick off Matt Guerrier in the eighth, and the Pirates won for just the second time in their last seven games.
