All-Star Andrew McCutchen homered and drove in a season-high five runs as the Pittsburgh Pirates rolled to a 9-1 home victory over the Chicago Cubs on Sunday.

Neil Walker had two doubles, a triple and an RBI while Paul Maholm tossed 7 2/3 strong innings for the Pirates, who have won 12 of their last 18 games.

McCutchen lifted the first of his two sacrifice flies in the first inning before staking Pittsburgh to a 5-0 lead with a three-run blast off Ramon Ortiz (0-2) in the third. The performance justified McCutchen's spot on the NL All-Star team; he was named as an injury replacement for Milwaukee's Ryan Braun on Saturday.

Maholm (6-9) limited Chicago to one run and four hits while striking out eight. The lefthander has surrendered two earned runs or less in six of his last seven starts.

Rookie Darwin Barney recorded two of the four hits by Chicago, which has lost 18 of its last 24 road games.
