Geoff Blum’s pinch-hit, two-run triple in the bottom of the seventh inning propelled the Houston Astros to a 5-4 victory over the Florida Marlins on Wednesday.
Humberto Quintero homered and Lance Berkman and Carlos Lee each drove in a run for Houston, which has won four straight following a horrid start to the season.
Wilton Lopez (1-0) picked up the win with two innings in relief of starter Bud Norris. Matt Lindstrom recorded his fourth save by working the ninth.
The Astros trailed, 4-3, heading into the seventh before Blum’s three-bagger off Burke Badenhop (0-2) scored Pedro Feliz and Kaz Matsui.
Dan Uggla had two hits for the Marlins, who scored four runs in the fifth for a 4-1 advantage.
