Josh Tomlin pitched a four-hitter and Shin-Soo Choo went 3-for-3 with two walks and two RBIs as the Cleveland Indians stopped a five-game losing streak with a 7-3 triumph over the Kansas City Royals on Friday.

Jayson Nix homered twice while Asdrubal Cabrera recorded three hits, two runs and an RBI for the Indians, who avoided a potential 100-loss season with the win.

Tomlin (5-4), who had his personal three-game winning streak snapped by Kansas City on Sunday, gained revenge by tossing his first career complete game. The 25-year old allowed three runs and two walks while striking out six en route to becoming the first Indian to work at least five innings in each of his first 11 career starts since Steve Dunning turned the trick in 1970.

Choo opened the scoring in the first inning with an RBI single and added a run-scoring double in the fifth that gave Cleveland a 4-1 bulge. Nix belted a solo home run in the second and Travis Hafner plated a run in the third with a single.

Shelley Duncan delivered an RBI single in the seventh and Nix completed his third career two-homer game and second this season with a leadoff shot in the eighth, his 14th of the year. Cabrera capped the scoring later in the frame with an RBI single.

Luke Hochevar (6-6) suffered his fourth loss in five decisions, surrendering four runs and eight hits with a walk and five strikeouts in five innings.

Wilson Betemit hit a sacrifice fly in the fourth and a two-out, two-run homer in the ninth for the Royals, who have lost 25 of their last 33 road games.
