Eskimos 35, Lions 29 (OT): Mike Reilly threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to Cory Watson in overtime to complete an impressive comeback as Edmonton topped host BC to finish a sweep of their three-game season series.
Reilly went 31-of-41 for 397 yards and two touchdowns while also running for a pair of scores for the Eskimos (10-6), who rallied from a 16-point deficit with just over four minutes left in the fourth quarter. Adarius Bowman made nine catches for 136 yards and a TD while Derel Walker had six receptions for 118 yards for Edmonton.
Jonathon Jennings completed 25-of-31 passes for 212 yards and a score for BC (6-10), which was eliminated from postseason contention with Saskatchewan's win over Calgary on Friday. Alex Ross ran for a touchdown and Bryan Burnham made a TD reception for the Lions, who lost their fifth straight and eighth in the last nine games.
Each team controlled a portion of the first half, with Edmonton taking a 12-0 lead in a first quarter that featured Reilly's 2-yard scoring run on the final play of the period. The Lions claimed the second quarter, answering with 12 points that included Ross' 1-yard rushing touchdown with 1:28 remaining to forge a tie.
BC continued its surge in the second half as Ty Long delivered a 48-yard field goal midway through the third quarter and Mike Benson recovered a fumble on a punt return and ran 6 yards for a score three minutes later for a 22-12 lead. Jennings connected with Burnham on a 4-yard touchdown with six minutes left in the fourth quarter to give the Lions a 16-point advantage, but Reilly scored on a 1-yard run with 4:12 to go and threw a 20-yard TD pass to Bowman with 36 seconds remaining -- completing both two-point conversion tosses -- to send the game to overtime.
